How to convert your bank account to a Fort Sill Federal Credit Union Rewards Checking Account
- Notify your old bank that you are closing your old account and fill out any necessary account closure paperwork.
- Send notification to companies who make automatic withdrawals from your old account that you have a new checking account now from which to make debits.
- Send notification to direct deposit companies that you have a new account.
- Enclose a voided check or deposit slip from your new account when setting up or switching your direct deposit.
- Cancel any regularly scheduled payments being made through Internet Banking on your old account.
- Allow up to 10 business days for checks to clear your old account before you completely close it.
- Destroy any and all unused checks, deposit slips, debit cards and/or ATM cards from your old account.
- Complete a Checking account termination form for your old bank.
- Complete a Direct Deposit switch/enrollment form (or Social Security Direct Deposit information form).
- Complete auto-debit switch/enrollment form if applicable from your bank.
Complete all necessary forms (E-Statement agreements, Checking application, debit card request box, etc.) and be sure to review your Fort Sill Federal Credit Union Rewards Checking Packet that features all necessary documentation for the account.
